Roger Haus poured his heart into supporting artists worldwide through the Exquisite Workers project (2020-2023). The name comes from the Exquisite Corpse game, invented by the Surrealists in Paris around 1925, in which participants created different sections of a figure without seeing the contributions made before them. In its first year, the group created 2,000 digital artworks using Instagram grid templates and monthly colour palettes, transforming the Exquisite Corpse game into a collaborative exercise at @exquisiteworkers. The arts were interconnected through a snake-like shape, rather than following the traditional three-part structure of the body. In 2021, they launched a cosmos-inspired collection immortalised on blockchain. Later, at the Picasso Museum, the collective introduced interactive cubes as a moving installation, including one featuring Picasso’s portrait. Here, the Exquisite Corpse returned to its original three-part figure: head, torso, and feet. By 2023, Exquisite Workers organised the world’s largest AI art show, “AI Surrealism,” at Superchief Gallery in NYC, generating 19 ETH (approximately $70,946) among 100 artist participants and the gallery team, exploring how Surrealism and AI lead us to the same shared space of the collective subconscious.
